Caitlin Hilsen-Ashford

Animal Care Assistant

I was born in Calgary, and raised here in St. Albert. I have always had a passion for animals and medicine, and decided as a young child I would pursue a career in the veterinary field. I grew up surrounded by cats and dogs, and started riding horses at age 7. I started volunteering at a horse rescue when I was twelve, where I learned the fundamentals of large animal care. I spend most of my days cuddling with my cat Cleo, or catching a ski day in the mountains. I am currently a student at the University of Alberta, studying Animal Health Sciences. I am super interested in surgery, and I always strive to ensure patients are comfortable and happy during their stay. I love getting exposure to different situations and broadening my knowledge of veterinary care. A fun fact about me is that I am addicted to Law and Order, and watch an episode (with my cat) every night.
