Dr. Joel Watts

Dr Joel grew up in St. Albert and has been working in the area since he graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine as honourary valedictorian. After working with cattle, sheep, pigs, and horses, he eventually came back to his true veterinary passion: the people of St. Albert's pets. Perhaps it was his many hamsters growing up or his family dog that drew him to this career, but it's working with the human-animal bond that makes him stay. All facets of pet medicine interest Joel, including internal medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, and surgery. He particularly enjoys the light-hearted yet efficient nature of Mission Ridge Animal Hospital, which funny enough was his first ever job in the veterinary field! He shares his home with his rescue pets: his lovely dog Bea(trix Kiddo) and mischievous cat Marvin.
