Summer Treats for Your Pet

Hot summer days spent lounging out in the yard are always made much more enjoyable when accompanied by an icy treat. It’s not only you who can enjoy these activities, your pet will also enjoy such treats on a hot summer day!

  1. Offer your pooch some frozen fruit, such as blueberries or strawberries for a quick, easy treat. You can even try mashing them up and place the mixture in ice cube treats, topped with a small amount of peanut butter and throw in the freezer for a few hours.
  2. Take some chicken broth (or tuna juice for the kitties), dilute it with some water and pour into an ice cube tray and stick in the freezer. These ice cubes then are added to water dishes, or given as a treat.
  3. Another take on the frozen broth treat, add your pets favourite dog or cat treat into the water-broth mixture!
  4. Pack a kong full of your pets favourite treats and put in the freezer for a few hours before offering to your pet.

These ideas are only a starting point! Try out different variations depending on your pet’s taste and toy preference. Your pet is bound to have lots of fun while enjoying their icy summer treats!
